Sleep Location

Sleep Location
  1. Another important aspect to evaluate when assessing your baby's sleeping habits is the environment that he or she is sleeping in
  2. Some parents opt to have their baby sleep in the same room as themselves, either in a bassinet or the parents' bed. The advantage to having your baby room in with you is that you can easily tend to your baby's needs without having to travel far. If you choose to keep your baby in your own bed, research the safety precautions recommended for such an arrangement. While rooming together can be convenient and emotionally bonding, your baby may also be more restless at night due to your normal sleep sounds.

On the other hand, babies that sleep in their own rooms can often sleep more peacefully without distractions, and you may sleep more soundly without hearing your baby's gurgling and squirming. Some babies find it difficult to sleep a distance away for you, which can adversely affect their sleeping patterns.

In order to make your nights as comfortable and predictable as possible, you might want to try getting your baby into a sleep routine. A consistent daily sleep routine is soothing for your baby and may aid in more sleep for both of you.
